The majority of our beef is locally sourced with some coming from our own farm, some five miles away. We are fortunate to be surrounded by a wealth of beef producers. We are on first name terms with many local farmers having built relationships over decades. We also frequent the local livestock markets in addition to purchasing carcasses and prime cuts from local abattoirs, thus ensuring a consistency of both quality and welfare.

All of our lamb is locally produced and is therefore one hundred percent Welsh. We either purchase lambs from the local mart in Newcastle Emlyn or we have our own flock where we can hand pick the finest lambs when they are ready. We are proud to be able to offer our home grown lambs throughout the summer months and support other local farmers throughout the year.

Our Pork is chosen for its succulent taste, fat coverage and quality of welfare. We source from a mixture of local, Welsh and UK pork due to the lack of a supply of pigs in Wales, especially West Wales. Rest assured that we choose trusted suppliers, who recognise the importance of high welfare and great tasting pork. All our local supply of pork comes from Cig Oen Caron, the Tregaron abattoir, who source their pigs within a 40-50 mile radius.

Our chickens are from high welfare UK farms and considered as Grade A's. They are also Red Tractor assured, this means they have 'room to roam'. The quality speaks for itself and is evident in the taste. We also sell a small batch weekly supply of Postance Poultry free range chickens, produced only four miles from Cardigan. All cut products to be within +/-5% of weights in description. All meat to be cut to order and has a minimum 3 days shelf life (unless otherwise agreed/stated). Before placing your order, please check out our  DELIVERY (dewijamesbutchers.co.uk) information.
